In a previous post I wrote we have been truly blessed this summer to go on two road trips. The first was California to Texas and back and the second covered Northern and Southern California. In seven days we visited five cities and covered 1,215 miles!
The trip was an adventure and a true blessing from my parents and my brother who (between the three of them) paid for EVERYTHING! Every meal, each snack, all treats and souvenirs...not to mention lovely hotels with spacious rooms!
We took a day trip to Hollywood and Beverly Hills where we stood infront of Grauman's Chinese Theater, drove past Paramount and other studios, got as close as possible to the "Hollywood" sign, and stopped by Rodeo Drive.
Our adventures took us down highway 1 (Pacific Coast Highway - PCH) along the coast where the view was beautiful but challenged the driver (a.k.a ME)! Hwy 1 went through Big Sur, past Hurst castle, and beside elephant seals bathing on the beach.
In addition to the Monterey Bay Aquarium, the San Diego Zoo was on the list of things to see while in CA. EVERY part of our trip echoed God's character, His love for us, His humor, etc. "By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible." (Hebrews 11:3. ESV.)
"By faith Enoch was taken up so that he should not see death, and he was not found, because God had taken him. Now before he was taken he was commended as having pleased God. 6And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him." (Hebrews 11:5-6. ESV.)
"By faith Noah, being warned by God concerning events as yet unseen, in reverent fear constructed an ark for the saving of his household. By this he condemned the world and became an heir of the righteousness that comes by faith." (Hebrews 11:7. ESV.)
I am infinitely thankful God provided the means for all of us to be able to go on this journey through His creation...this world he gave to us which I find great enjoyment in exploring! Thank you Dad, Mom, and Matthew for the opportunity to see the sights and to teach my children about God's existence!!!
Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. (Hebrews 11:1. ESV.)
