If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin is crouching at the door. Its desire is for you, but you must rule over it." (Genesis 4:7. ESV.)
Ecclesiastes 8:12: Though a sinner does evil a hundred times and prolongs his life, yet I know that it will be well with those who fear God, because they fear before him.
Isaiah 3:10: Tell the righteous that it shall be well with them, for they shall eat the fruit of their deeds.
Isaiah 3:11: Woe to the wicked! It shall be ill with him, for what his hands have dealt out shall be done to him.
Now the men of Sodom were wicked, great sinners against the LORD. (Genesis 13:13. ESV.)
2 Peter 2:6-10: …if by turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah to ashes he condemned them to extinction, making them an example of what is going to happen to the ungodly; 7and if he rescued righteous Lot, greatly distressed by the sensual conduct of the wicked 8(for as that righteous man lived among them day after day, he was tormenting his righteous soul over their lawless deeds that he saw and heard); 9then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials, and to keep the unrighteous under punishment until the day of judgment, 10and especially those who indulge in the lust of defiling passion and despise authority.
When an authority has been placed in my life yet that position over me continuously instructs me to sin I feel I have an obligation to say, “I respect you and would love to submit to you however I cannot do as you have asked of me,” even if I know my refusal will anger that individual.
"I the LORD search the heart and test the mind, to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his deeds." (Jeremiah 17:10. ESV.)
Luke 8:15: As for that in the good soil, they are those who, hearing the word, hold it fast in an honest and good heart, and bear fruit with patience.
2 Thessalonians 2:12: in order that all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
Romans 1:16: For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.
When I stand before my Lord I will have to give an account to Him.
