16 Do not be deceived, my beloved brothers. 17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change. 18 Of his own will he brought us forth by the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures. (James 1:16-18. ESV.)
"Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble. (Matthew 6:34. ESV.)
God provides. (Please forgive me for echoing this truth yet again.) That I know for sure. If I have learned nothing else in the past seven months it is that God cares for His people and gives them what they need. Just like the two fish and five loves (Matthew 14:13-21). Jesus was able to feed 5,000 with it! And the widow who fed Elijah with what she had left of her flour and oil...a handful. However, because she did as the Lord asked of her, she and her household ate for many days. "The bin of flour was not used up, nor did the jar of oil run dry, according to the word of the Lord which He spoke by Elijah.: (1 Kings 17:16.NKJV.)
Not only do we receive necessities but from time to time God blesses with little extras. This past weekend my kiddos received blessings which kept them very busy. A neighbor is moving and had to find a new home for a bike, two scooters, a pogo stick, soccer ball, and mini trampoline. So now instead of racing office chairs (on wheels) down the driveway they have perfects gifts for which we are so thankful.
Not to mention a loved one gave me a hand me down pocket pc. Sure, it's a little outdated but I like it. It has numerous functions and was top notch in its time. Thanks, Sarah!
John answered, "A person cannot receive even one thing unless it is given him from heaven. (John 3:27. ESV.)
Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, 7 casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you. (1 Peter 5:6-7. ESV.)
So why in the world do I stress over things? It is COMPLETELY futile!!! God has always been faithful and He always will. All I have to do is keep the faith and obey His instruction for me (from grace not legalism)...and He will do the rest.
25 "Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? 27 And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life? 28 And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, 29 yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30 But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? 31 Therefore do not be anxious, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' 32 For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. (Matthew 6:25-33. ESV.)
