Varieties of Gifts, but the Same Spirit

Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; 5and there are varieties of service, but the same Lord; 6and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who empowers them all in everyone. 7 To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. 8For to one is given through the Spirit the utterance of wisdom, and to another the utterance of knowledge according to the same Spirit, 9to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit, 10to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another the ability to distinguish between spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. 11All these are empowered by one and the same Spirit, who apportions to each one individually as he wills. (1 Corinthians 12:4-11. ESV.)

It never ceases to amaze me how God works ALL things for good (in some way, shape, or form). Not just some stuff, but everything! I, personally, am a firm believer that NOTHING is coincidence and that every event (in this vapor of a life no matter how big or small) has a purpose. (I do not desire to sound heartless, apathetic, or uncompassionate. Believe me, I KNOW (from experience) that (to quote a clichéd sentiment) “bad things happen to good people” (even precious children)…which just might be considered a gross understatement to some. So please do not misunderstand or look too far into it.) My point is this:

Many moons ago when my parents placed me in dance classes (when I was four years old) I had no inkling that teaching and choreographing would be my main way of earning funds for my family. Nor did I foresee that happening upon a company that ended up paying for my web design and graphic design education would contribute greatly to my second leading way to bring in a small income. But that is exactly what God had orchestrated before the foundations of the earth. Seemingly unnecessary, unfortunate, ugly circumstances have made me the sole provider for me and my crew (thankfully not without the astounding support of family and loved ones) however despite the hardship, there is insane blessing…for the glory of God.

What then, brothers? When you come together, each one has a hymn, a lesson, a revelation, a tongue, or an interpretation. Let all things be done for building up. (1 Corinthians 14:26. ESV.)

For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned. (Romans 12:3. ESV.)

Does he who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you do so by works of the law, or by hearing with faith— (Galatians 3:5. ESV.)

Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world. (1 John 4:1. ESV.)

How grateful I am for special gifts/ talents God bestows upon each and every one of us…to be used for His glory and service to Him and others.

"Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied. Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God. Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account. 12 Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you. (Matthew 5:2-12. ESV.)

(Mateo 5:2-12).
