Take Me to Your Leader

Who is your leader? Who or what do you serve? On what (or with whom) do you spend most of your time?

When I was a high schooler, I fell in love with Jesus as my Savior and my Lord. That may sound clichè, but it is true. I remember some Christian bookstore merchandise that read, "Jesus is my Co-pilot". Then, it did not raise any flags but now I say, "No way! Jesus is my pilot!" And, I am to serve Him well!

Today, was the reunion of my former youth group. I saw a few pictures through out the day but it was nowhere near as momentous as I am sure it was to actually be there! Tomorrow, some will be attending worship service together at the church where I grew up. That is where the Lord met me where I was. There is where Palm Sunday came to life and sunrise service took a special place in my heart.

"If you love me, you will keep my commandments. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever, even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you.

"I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. Yet a little while and the world will see me no more, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live. In that day you will know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you. Whoever has my commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves me. And he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and manifest myself to him."...Jesus answered him, "If anyone loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him. Whoever does not love me does not keep my words. And the word that you hear is not mine but the Father's who sent me.
(John 14:15-21, 23, 24 ESV)

I feel I have grown (and continue to do so) the most when I started spending time in the word of God everyday! I placed Him first and try to fit in everything else. He is my Leader! And, if you take my hand, I will gladly take you to Him. He will blow your mind and you will be filled to overflowing with His love!

And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven." (Matthew 16:18, 19 ESV)
